Copenhagen Fashion Week features over 2000 brands
People are generally spending less during the financial crisis, but some may still be willing to spend on clothes, so as to boost their confidence. As the biggest fashion event in Northern Europe, Copenhagen Fashion Week is attracting more than 2-thousand brands from around Europe. They are showcasing their collections for autumn and winter 2009.
Thirty seven fashion shows will be held at Copenhagen Fashion Week which opened on Thursday.Four fashion exhibitions are also set to be included.
A collection by Danish designer Louise Amstrup opened the fair displaying a discernable Scandinavian style down to earth and wearable. The clothes also feature avant-guard cuts which are at the same also elegant.
Another Danish designer, Elise Gug, presented her collection at the Danish Art Industry Museum. The show recalled the 1930′s, with the audience sitting on the stage sipping champagne while the models showed the latest creations.
The Copenhagen Fashion Fair is feeling the effect of the global financial crisis, with less shows and fewer people in the audience. But one expert said it could be turned into something positive with creativity and innovation as the solution. [-via-]
